PSHE

At Jeavons Wood Primary School, we believe in nurturing the whole child - emotionally, socially, and physically - through a rich and inclusive PSHE curriculum. Every pupil receives high-quality teaching designed to help them grow into confident, compassionate, and responsible individuals.

Our PSHE provision is delivered through a blend of circle times, direct teaching, and collaborative group activities, all tailored to support children’s personal development. We focus on helping pupils build strong friendships, resolve conflicts with empathy, and work cooperatively with others. Alongside this, children learn how to care for their physical and mental wellbeing, developing lifelong habits for healthy bodies and healthy minds.

Citizenship is woven into the fabric of school life. Pupils are encouraged to take active roles in our community through leadership opportunities such as the School Council, Peer Mediators, and Language Ambassadors. These roles empower children to understand their place in society and contribute positively to the world around them.

Our school values are central to everything we do. They are prominently displayed throughout the school and consistently modelled by all staff. Children are encouraged to live these values in their daily actions and are celebrated for doing so. These values help shape the culture of our school and guide children in becoming thoughtful, respectful members of the wider community.

A beautiful symbol of this ethos is our Values Tree, proudly displayed in the Key Stage One Agora. It reflects the growth, character, and collective spirit of our school community - a place where children learn not just what they know, but who they are becoming.
