Pre-School - Caterpillars

Jeavons Wood Pre-School opened in September 2013 in a purpose built room on-site at Jeavons Wood Primary School.  We are proud of our nurturing and enabling environment, both indoors and outdoors, where curiosity and a love for learning are encouraged right from the very start of childrens' school lives.

We offer funded and non-funded sessions for children from the age of 3 during term time only. The setting offers 2 sessions a day and each session lasts three hours. You can find out more about our team by clicking here.

The morning session runs from 8.45am-11.45am and the afternoon session from 11.45am-2.45pm. The afternoon session begins with lunch which the children can bring in from home. Children can also attend for a whole day 8.45am to 2.45pm (6 hours).

Every child is entitled to 15 universal hours a week of government funding from the term after they turn 3 (2 and a half days  - 5 sessions - of free provision). Our main intake of children is in September each year. If your child is not yet eligible for funding or if they are already using their funded hours with another childcare provider they are still able to attend the Pre-School. An additional charge of £18.00 per 3-hour session will apply.

Some children are eligible for 15 extended hours a week of government funding. You will need to visit the website https://www.childcarechoices.gov.uk/ to find out if you are eligible for this.

We accept children on to the waiting list from their second birthday. The waiting list is held in age order and when a space becomes available it will be offered to the eldest child (in accordance with LEA guidelines), regardless of how long they have been on the list.

Highest priority is given to children with siblings already attending Jeavons Wood Primary School. We do our best to ensure that all children in the year before they start school will receive a Pre-School place.

If you would like your child to be accepted on to the waiting list please contact the School Office, at office@jeavonswood.org for a waiting list application form. You can also download the waiting list application form from this page. This can be returned by email or via the main school office postbox in the front foyer, addressed to the Pre-School.

If you have any further questions or would like to arrange a visit, please contact the school office.
